TALCUM POWDER DEEMED AS POSSIBLE TRIGGER FOR OVARIAN CANCER

Over the course of the past decade, there has been an alarmingly increased amount of individuals sourcing the diagnoses of ovarian cancer to a product that for ages has been an essential for many women and children: talcum powder. Several talcum powder manufacturers, including Johnson and Johnson, are facing personal injury and wrongful death lawsuits due to the fact that talc has been classified as a possible human carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer. Certain research studies have concluded that women who frequently used talcum powder correlated with over a 20% increased chance of ovarian cancer within specific control groups.

The American Cancer Society has also conducted studies that link the use of talcum powder to other cancers aside from ovarian cancer. These illnesses include lung cancer and endometrial cancer. Lastly, the International Agency for Research on Cancer classifies talc that contains asbestos that contains asbestos undoubtedly as “carcinogenic to humans.”
