Medical School Graduate Killed in Cobb County Drunk Driving Accident

Tyler Wallace was a recent medical school graduate of the University of Georgia. He was at the top of his class when he graduated last year. He had just opened up his own physical therapy practice. He had attended post-medical school training in Smyrna this past week and was on his way home.

While Wallace was thinking about his future medical career, a 44-year old man named Brent Douglas Davis was thinking about having another beer. The problem is, Davis was driving when he cracked that last beer can.

Tyler Wallace was traveling down Highlands Parkway Drive when Davis turned on the road from the Highlands Grove Business Park. He then crashed into Wallace’s vehicle, seriously injuring him. The rescue team had to literally cut Wallace out of his car. Wallace was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital. Sadly, he died just two days later.

The cops arrived at the scene just minutes later. They approached Davis’ car. They reported that they could smell the alcohol from a distance. They asked him to get out of his car. He could barely walk and he was slurring his speech. They noticed that he had open beer cans scattered throughout his vehicle.

He was charged with DUI as well as homicide by vehicle. He was arrested. The family of Tyler Wallace is going to certainly have a chance to sue Davis for wrongful death. There is no excuse for drunk driving. There was no reason poor Tyler Wallace needed to die. This is why we always tell people to contact our drunk driving accident lawyers if they’re involved in a drunk driving accident. People who behave this way need to be held accountable and that’s what we do.
